Although AVI is listed as a Premiere supported file type, incompatibility issues still exist if it is encoded with H.264 codec. The AVI video coming with the H.264/MPEG-4 AVC belongs to the second one. The two problems may happen due to different reasons – you don’t install proper codecs or your source media contains codecs that are not compatible with your editing program.
